Always, For You

Balloon Release – International Opioid Awareness Day

Sometimes the silence is too much

Settling over me like a shroud

Heavy and dark and oppressive

A loneliness that takes hold of my heart

Unspeakable loss

Unspeakable grief

Unspeakable sorrow

What might have been

     What could have been

          If only…

And yet…

There still remains

Your bright light shining in my heart

Treasured memories and moments shared

Our love, unfettered and unbound

Today we’re joined together in our pain

As we lift our voices heavenward

With one collective cry

Carried on these winds of hope

We rally here to fight for change

For you, always for you

Oh…..my friend shared a poem on Facebook today, for her deceased son’s 32nd birthday, a beautiful young man lost to opioid addiction. Thank you for this. Love to you and yours. x
